We LOVE chicken wings in our house. I mean, does anyone NOT like them?
These wings are air dried in the fridge for a few hours before coating them in a spicy dry rub. They are the perfect addition to a Football party!
Spicy Dry Rubbed Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 2-3 lbs Chicken Wings broken down if whole, tips removed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ancho chile powder
- 1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper omit if you don't want it extra spicy
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Breakdown chicken wings if they aren't portioned already.
- Place a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet.
- Pat the wings dry and place on cooling rack on baking sheet
- Let air dry in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
- While the wings are drying combine all spices in a small bowl.
- Stir to mix evenly.
- Once the chicken is dried preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Take chicken out of fridge and place in a bowl.
- Add the seasonings and mix together to make sure each wing is evenly coated.
- Wash the pan/cooling rack.
- Spray the cooling rack and place chicken back on
- Cook in oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and flip chicken
- Place back in over for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite ranch or buffalo sauce!
Notes
Depending on the amount of chicken wings you have you might need to double the spice mixture.
